Plain English Summary

Lightweight Capture and Lightweight Editor are free to use forever. You may download and use the official apps for personal or internal business work. You may not sell them, re-host them, bundle them with other downloads, modify them, decompile them, or pass off changed copies as official Lightweight Tools releases.

You are welcome to build your own tools with similar ideas, names, workflows, or features, as long as you do not copy, alter, impersonate, or redistribute the official Lightweight Tools applications.

Full Terms

License Grant. Lightweight Tools grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use official Lightweight Tools application binaries at no cost.
Free Forever. The official applications covered by this license are provided free of charge. Lightweight Tools will not require payment to unlock the existing free functionality of those official applications.
Official Downloads. Official downloads are provided through lightweight-tools.app or another source expressly identified by Lightweight Tools as official. You may share links to official download pages, but you may not host, mirror, redistribute, upload, or make the application files available from another website, file host, marketplace, package manager, installer, or distribution channel without written permission.
No Sale or Commercial Redistribution. You may not sell, rent, lease, sublicense, monetize, bundle, package, include in paid services, or otherwise commercially distribute the applications or any copies of them.
No Modification or Repackaging. You may not modify, patch, wrap, rename, rebrand, alter, inject code into, remove notices from, or repackage the applications. You may not distribute any modified, tampered, infected, or unofficial build as Lightweight Tools software.
No Source Code License. This license grants no rights to source code. No source code is provided or licensed under this agreement.
No Reverse Engineering. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, derive source code from, inspect internal implementation details of, or attempt to bypass technical protections in the applications, except where applicable law expressly prohibits this restriction.
No Impersonation. You may not use Lightweight Tools names, logos, icons, branding, file names, website assets, or confusingly similar marks to suggest that an unofficial app, modified build, fork, installer, download, or service is made, endorsed, or approved by Lightweight Tools.
Independent Tools Are Allowed. Nothing in this license prevents you from creating your own independent software with similar features or workflows, provided that you do not copy, modify, redistribute, impersonate, or misuse the official Lightweight Tools applications or branding.
Ownership. Lightweight Tools retains all rights, title, and interest in the applications, names, logos, branding, documentation, website materials, and related intellectual property. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
Updates. Lightweight Tools may release updates, replacements, or new versions. Those releases are covered by this license unless a newer license is included with them.
No Warranty. The applications are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of Liability. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lightweight Tools is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, business, or goodwill arising from use of or inability to use the applications.
Termination. If you violate this license, your rights under it terminate automatically. Upon termination, you must stop using the applications and delete any copies in your possession or control.

By downloading or using Lightweight Tools applications, you agree to these terms for the official releases you install.
